Nestlé Waters Twitter Chat on Creating Shared Value, June 18th

By Nick Aster

Bottled water is a topic that always stirs conversation on TriplePundit. On the one hand, it is a ubiquitous and popular product with many practical uses from the mundane (quenching thirst on the go) to the life-saving (providing safe drinking water in a disaster). However, environmentalists justly criticize the bottled water industry for the amount of plastic waste it generates as well as advertising campaigns designed to put perfectly-safe tap water in a bad light. Regardless of how you feel, the bottled water industry provides a product that makes many lives more convenient, prevents water-borne illness in the developing world, employs thousands and represents billions of dollars in economic value.

We have teamed up with CSRWire again to present what may be our most interesting Twitter chat to date - a quest for creating shared value with Nestlé Waters North America.  You can download Nestlé's detailed PDF on Shared Value here and learn about, among other things, the company's efforts to increase recycling rates in the US and striving toward zero waste.

On June 18th, we'll get into the details and provide you a chance to learn about NWNA’s sustainability strategy and discuss pressing topics like recycling for consumer packaging.
