We kicked off our Craft Brewers Conference coverage interviewing Fal Allen, Brewmaster at Anderson Valley Brewing Company, famous for creating solar-powered beer.
Not only does this brewery make award winning beer, they boast an impressive ecological commitment. Located in rural Mendocino, CA, Anderson Valley seeks to lower their impact as much as possible. For example, citing the environmental and financial benefits, they work to reuse or recycle all of their waste and generate 40 percent of their brewery’s electricity using solar panels.
Jenn Coyle sat down with Fal to chat about the benefits of cans, why he shies away from the word “sustainability” and what beers you can expect next from this brewery:
