Clean Energy startups can now get a leg up with a new startup accelerator program accepting applications this summer. GreenStart, the brain child of Dave Graham and his two co-founders, wants to help mission-driven entrepreneurs succeed. GreenStart is looking for ideas that reduce use of dirty energy or promote the use of clean energy. Capital efficient ideas that are revenue generating in 12 months are preferred. The program is accepting applications between May 24th and July 3rd, 2011. Teams and individuals are encouraged to apply. Accepted applicants will receive $25,000 in seed capital and mentorship throughout its three month acceleration program beginning on Sept 12th in exchange for 3-10% of the company in common stock. Graham is targeting 500 applications and plan to back 10 companies in this first cycle.
