The Toyota Viet Nam Foundation has now trained more than 28,000
schoolchildren in its traffic safety education programme, according to
latest statistics. The programme is the first to be conducted
nationwide by the foundation and is run in conjunction with the
country’s national traffic safety committee and the education and
training ministry.

Toyota aims to raise road safety awareness through the programme for
five million first-grade pupils in the school years 2005-08. The
programme has included 22 seminars for 2600 teachers.

The car manufacturer has also provided schools with three million text books, 29,000 view CDs and a similar number of teachers’ manuals.
