Four Indonesian companies took awards at the first Sustainable
Enterprise Performance Conference in Jakarta. The awards will now
become an annual event and will be open to all companies based in
Indonesia. The National Centre for Sustainability Reporting was set up
at the conference and will support the awards.
The award winners for their 2004 achievements were: P.T. Astra
International, Tbk (Social and Environmental Report category), P.T.
Bank Danamon, Tbk (Social Report category), P.T. Sumalindo Lestari
Jaya, Tbk (Environmental Report category), and P.T. Lonsum Sumatra
Indonesia, Tbk (Web-based Sustainability Report category).
The aim of the conference was to highlight the growing importance of
sustainable practice and the leading role business can play in
spearheading CSR initiatives.
