The Science Behind Healthy Spaces: The Role of Buildings in Well-Being

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the critical role that buildings play in supporting people’s health, safety and well-being. Owners and operators are challenged not only to reduce the spread of the virus in indoor spaces, but also to equip these spaces to better withstand future challenges.  The WELL Health-Safety Rating was created based on feedback from a group of nearly 600 public health experts, academics, business leaders, architects, and other professionals as an evidence-based standard to make buildings safer and more resilient.
