A bribery and corruption framework has been drawn up by UK-based GoodCorporation to help organizations avoid corrupt practices.
The framework can be used by companies in conjunction with an assessment process that, among other things, looks at whether an anti-corruption and bribery policy is in place, whether a system exists to implement the policy, and whether stakeholders agree that the system works in practice.
Participants will be provided with a report analysing their performance, plus a grading.
The 26-point framework, which companies will be analysed against, states that:
senior managers must report on corruption policies and cases to non-executive directors
employees should commit themselves to follow the organization’s anti-corruption policies and should receive training on them
there should be a con?dential process for reporting issues of concern to senior management
invoice approval and payment should be done by different parts of the organization.
