The superannuation fund VicSuper has been given the Australian award
for the best 2006 sustainability report by the Association of Chartered
Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Danielle Welsh, who managed VicSuper’s project, said improvements to
the 2006 report were more about technology and presentation than
content. The main report went online and its web-based style of
presentation enabled more detailed information to be better presented.
Then a printed concise version was introduced containing less text but
emphasizing visuals and readability. The presentation followed the
Global Reporting Initiative G3 Guidelines.
There were 36 entries. The joint runners-up were last year’s winner
mecu (banking) and the utility company WaterCare Services. BHP Billiton
received a commendation award for the best report from an Australian
Stock Exchange-listed entity.
