Market research and trade forums are to be run in Malaysia to communicate changes in rules for legal and sustainable timber.
The programme, involving four meetings in Malaysia in January, has been
drawn up by the UK Timber Trade Federation, the Dutch Timber
Association and the Malaysian Timber Council, with funds from the UK’s
international development ministry.
The European Union, which has introduced legislation on legal and
sustainable timber, has been involved in establishing the
programme.
